Jenny Ung

Jenny is currently a junior at Arizona State University pursuing concurrent degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication, Political Science and Asia Studies, as well as a certificate in International Studies. Since her freshman year, she has held several communications-related positions including PR & Marketing Intern for the Mesa Arts Center, Marketing Communications Intern for the Encoded Textiles Collaborative, PR/Marketing Intern for ASU Changemaker Central, News Reporter Intern for Ahwatukee Foothills News and Director of Marketing for Maroon and Gold Ambassadors, an ASU student organization. Jenny has also worked as a graphic designer for a local printing company in the summer of 2014.

In the summer of 2015, Jenny participated in The Fund for American Studies' Institute on Political Journalism in Washington, D.C. where she interned as a Collegiate Correspondent for USA TODAY College at the National Press Club. She has been covering and following Arizona legislature and national education issues while working with USA TODAY College and through her courses at both the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the School of Politics and Global Studies. While Jenny's career aspirations are to become a foreign correspondent focusing on foreign policy in Asia, she is interested in advocating for college students and education policies in Arizona. Jenny will also be working as a Community Reporting Intern at the Arizona Republic and News Reporter for the State Press this semester.
