Director of Legislative Affairs
Michael was born in Phoenix and spent a majority of his life living in Mesa. He is a product of Mesa Public Schools, attending Whitman and Edison Elementary Schools, Carson Junior High, and Westwood High School. He eventually earned his Associate's Degree from Mesa Community College and went on to Arizona State University to earn his Bachelors in Political Science with a certificate in Civic Education.
Michael was selected to work in the State Senate for the 51st Legislature, 1st Session. Assigned to the Senate Education and Appropriations committees, Michael worked closely with Policy Advisors and State Senators to perform in-depth analysis of policy implications associated with proposed legislation, helped to advise Senators on the bills before their committee, and occasionally wrote legislation.
Michael served as the voice of college students across the country as the Chair of the College Caucus for a national organization. He continuously fought to ensure college students were part of our political process and helped the organization in planning the inaugural College Leadership Academy, which was held in Washington, D.C. in July of 2014. Fighting for college students to have a voice in our system, Michael has been personally responsible for registering hundreds of college students in the Phoenix Metro area.
