Renewable energy and energy efficiency are key to preventing pollution, reducing our energy costs, cleaning our air, and addressing our climate crisis. In November, utility regulators at the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) took an important step by voting to send a comprehensive set of new clean energy rules to formal rulemaking. If finalized, these rules will require Arizona’s utilities to deliver 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050 (with benchmarks along the way), invest in more energy efficiency and energy storage, and make utility planning processes more transparent. However, not everyone sees this action from the ACC as a positive one. Two identical bills have been introduced (HB2248/SB1175) that would prohibit the Arizona Corporation Commission from establishing energy rules.

Please send a message to your Arizona Senator and two Arizona House of Representatives and ask them to please vote NO on both SB1175 and HB2248!
